When you access our Service, we automatically collect certain information about your device and usage patterns.

Our Service requires access to your device camera to capture selfies for facial recognition. We only access your camera when you explicitly grant permission and actively use the selfie capture feature.

4. Biometric Data and Facial Recognition

4.1 Purpose and Processing

We use facial recognition technology exclusively to match your selfie with photos taken at conference events. This processing is performed using AWS Rekognition.

4.2 Storage and Retention

Your selfie images are temporarily stored for processing and audit purposes. Selfies are automatically deleted after 24 hours unless you request deletion sooner.

4.3 Your Rights Regarding Biometric Data

• You must provide explicit consent before we process your facial image
• You can withdraw consent at any time
• You can request deletion of your biometric data
• We will never sell, lease, or trade your biometric data

4.4 BIPA Compliance

For users in Illinois: We comply with the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. We obtain written consent before collecting biometric identifiers and implement reasonable security measures to protect biometric information.

We share your information with service providers (AWS, email services, database providers), event organizers (anonymized data), and as required by law.

• Account Information: Duration of account plus 30 days
• Conference Photos: As specified by event organizer (typically 90 days)

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
